Virtual Forum for Policy Governance® Boards

This 5-month virtual forum is designed to create a cohort of school board members, whose boards have formally adopted Policy Governance®. In addition to the knowledge gained during the forum, it is expected that cohort members will continue to use this network to support one another in the application of Policy Governance® and to share resources after the forum concludes. It assumes previous knowledge of and experience with Policy Governance®. New members are welcome. 

 

The forum will be facilitated by a nationally certified Policy Governance® trainer. To build a cohort, participants will commit to and do their best to attend all five sessions. Participants may submit a topic or question for discussion prior to each session. The  five one-hour sessions will take place from 6:00-7:00 PM on the second Thursdays of the month, with the exception of June, which will be on Tuesday. 

 

Dates:  February 13, March 13, April 10, May 8, and (Tuesday) June 17

 

Cost:

The VSBA encourages districts to register their superintendent and as many board members as possible to learn together as a governance team. As such, there is a maximum charge of $1,000 for a district that registers five or more people.

 

Rates:

• $200/per person

• $1,000/district for 5+ participants

 

(* When a board chair and superintendent attend any of the events together, this will count towards the mandated joint training as outlined in statute 16 V.S.A. §561(b).)
