Student Board Members
The Student Voice Guide is intended to provide school boards and administrators with information and practices to assist in engaging students on public school boards. It includes information to guide the process from considering the idea to preparing the board and the youth for the task as well as implementation. This document should not be relied upon for legal advice. We recommend all boards consult with their attorney if they have legal questions.
We are launching a free virtual forum for all student board members. Every six weeks in the evenings at 6:30 p.m. we will meet online to discuss roles and responsibilities of student board members as well as challenges and best practices. This is a great time to ask questions, share your concerns, or offer insights into your role on the board.
